One boy, one boat, one tiger . . .After the tragic sinking of a cargo ship, a solitary lifeboat remains bobbing on the wild, blue Pacific. The only survivors from the wreck are a sixteen year-old boy named Pi, a hyena, a zebra (with a broken leg), a female orang-utan ? and a 450-pound Royal Bengal tiger. The scene is set for one of the most extraordinary and best-loved works of fiction in recent years.

One of my favourite books its just such an incredible story and so well written and told. I never thought you could make a film of this but was proved wrong by Ang Lee's great adaptation.

Read book then saw movie, then read blogs on book and movie, then read parts of book again, then saw movie again, then discussed with my girlfriend and brother.

The meaning of the book slowly sank through.

But what a book, a must read!

Very glad I decided to read it before seeing the movie. I'm looking forward to seeing the adaptation of it on the screen and see if it will live up to how great the novel was.
