Down to the secret waterhole the animals all come,
As seasons bring forth drought and flood, they gather there as one.
United in their common need, their numbers swell to ten,
But hidden deep amongst the trees lie ten times that again!
The Waterhole is an ingenious fusion of counting book, puzzle book, storybook and art book - an exhilarating journey of discovery, from the plains of Africa and the Jungles of the Amazon to the woodlands of North America and the deserts of outback Australia.

I chose Angus & Robertson as I’d left my birthday purchase rather late and they claimed to meet my delivery requirements - which they did. However the book, a paperback, arrived damaged - bent. Not packaged to protect a paperback.
I complained and they did replace it after I sent photos but I’d missed my party deadline and it was no better protected the next time. it was only after I expressed my disappointment and said I would never purchase with them again they sent me a 10% off voucher for my next purchase. It appears they used booktopia to deliver but I’m not certain and they wouldn’t acknowledge the source of the fault. They did commit to extra packaging and protection the second time around but as there was no difference I can only surmise (rightly or wrongly) the book that was sent was already damaged. It was bent, and had discoloration on the pages inside where it had been pressed and bent. If you know this book you know how special it is - the illustrations are divine.
Won’t use this retailer for online purchases again. Will say the customer service I received on email when I complained was wonderful so well done there.
